My name is Valeria Vernizzi and I am a photographer.

 

In this project, I aim to explore the boundaries of landscape photography, pushing them until they cross over into an alien and estranging territory. In my work, the landscape is not merely a portrait of an object, but an actively constructed subject.

 

My workflow begins with the active construction of a miniature environment using common and organic materials (wood, metal, felt). The second phase involves building a photographic set to finally capture my small-scale diorama. The third phase consists of robust post-production to refine the miniature, playing with textures and colors.

 

I have been dedicated to this project in a sporadic manner, since 2009.
